Yes. We don't use any sulfates or other harsh surfactants that can strip color away. Our products are completely safe whether your hair is bleached, dyed, permed or straightened.

Yes, Everist is free from all sulfates, triclosan, phthalates and dyes.

Everist is free of phthalates and synthetic fragrance. We do use some essential oils for their hair and skin benefits, including bergamot, orange, rosemary, clary sage and peppermint, which they will always be clearly listed on the label. They smell pretty great too!

Yes, Everist products are Leaping Bunny Certified Cruelty-Free.

Our formulas are gluten-free but they are not made in a certified gluten-free facility.

Yes, we know your scalp is skin too. We use ingredients like aloe vera to soothe and nourish and peppermint to increase blood circulation which aids in healthy hair growth. Think of it as skincare for your scalp!

Yes, we believe your body wash should do more than just cleanse your skin - it should condition too. We've therefore removed the water and packed these formulas with skincare ingredients like aloe vera and that soothe and hydrate the skin.

We care about what goes on your skin, as well as down the drain and into our water systems. We chose plant-based and biodegradable ingredients over the widely used petroleum-derived, synthetic ingredients for this reason.

We don't recommend it - but that goes for any soap. Although our products are made from biodegradable, plant-based ingredients that are able to break down naturally, Everist follows the Leave No Trace principles and we don't recommend using any cleansing agents in streams, ponds, and lakes, as it can disrupt delicate ecosystems.

We recommend using a camp shower or filling a bucket with water and taking it about 200ft / 70m from any water source. Use small amount of the concentrate (a little goes a long way!) and then just dig about 6 inches deep to dispose of any soapy water (or use a designated greywater drain). Fun fact - bacterias in the soil will biodegrade the product safely! Nature at its finest.

Yes - our shampoo, conditioner, body wash and exfoliating body wash concentrates are 100% biodegradable. Our deep conditioning concentrate contains a clean, high-performance ingredient (behentrimonium chloride) that is in most clean conditioners, but it's known to not readily biodegrade. We use a small, safe amount, but recommend you use in a proper shower and water filtration system vs outdoors.

Yes. Although you don't want aluminum in your products, our aluminum tubes and tins have a BPA-free epoxy lining in them to prevent any aluminum transfer into the products.

You bet! Sadly this chemical is still widely used in polycarbonate and PVC plastic, the most common plastic packaging used in cosmetics and personal care products.

Our concentrates are measured by weight to be always 100ml, 30-50 washes. However, because of the concentrate format, there needs to be extra room in the tubes to allow space for the formula to expand when they're mixed and contract when it cools.

Our kraft carton is carbon neutral and recyclable. Printed on 100% recycled paper (meaning no trees were cut down to make it).

Turns out we needed a plastic cap so your tubes don't leak. We explored other materials such as bamboo and metal, but they all still had plastic on the inside, and multi-material layers are even harder to recycle. Therefore, we reduced our caps down as small as possible and highlighted them in yellow as a reminder we can always do better. We then created a CapBack program to ensure this plastic gets a second life by upcycling it into future Everist products.

What you do when you’re done with our products is just as important to us as how they’re created.

TUBE: Empty aluminum tube, unroll, rinse the outside and recycle (check local guidelines). Bunch with other aluminum (foil, pie plates, etc) for the highest likelihood of being collected.

CAP: Collect in the cotton bag provided. Once your bag is full visit helloeverist.com/capback to print your pre-paid return shipping label.

BOX: Unfold and place in the recycling bin. Our boxes are recyclable, as well as printed on 100% recycled paper.

KEY: Reuse these metal keys on toothpaste, paint tubes, you name it. If you'd like, you can also return them to us with your caps to be reused on Everist products.

It's easy.

3) Pour the small caps into a standard size envelope and attach the shipping label.

4) Drop off at any post office mailbox or store. 

In the shower, simply wet hair and hands. Place metal tube key provided over top of tube and roll down gently to dispense a 1 inch strip of the concentrate into palm (for mid-length hair). Rub hands to activate. Thoroughly wet hair and work from root to tip for at least 30 seconds to build a rich, creamy lather in hair. Rinse well. Adjust dose as needed for optimal lather.

Similar to the shampoo, place metal tube key provided over top of tube and roll down gently to dispense a 1 inch strip of the concentrate into palm (for mid-length hair). Rub hands to activate. Thoroughly wet hair and work the serum-like conditioner from ends to mid-way up the hair strands for 3 minutes then rinse well (for fine hair only apply to ends). Adjust dose as needed. The deep conditioner doubles as a hair mask, so you can leave it on for up to 15 minutes for extra hydration.

Our concentrates are packed with only the pure, active ingredients that your hair and skin needs. A small amount goes a long way. However, it is important to get the right dose for your hair type. Think a 1/2 inch strip for short hair, a 1 inch strip for medium hair and a 1 1/2 inch strip for very long, thick hair. For body, we suggest a 1/2 inch to 1 inch strip. When paired with our Konjac Sponge, a little will go a long way. Adjust dose as needed for optimal lather. The WOW moment really comes once hair and skin is dry, so we suggest testing a few times to get your dose just right!

Our sulfate-free formulas build a remarkable rich, creamy lather, without stripping the natural sebum oil barrier. Don't let those big suds from sulfates fool you - gentle cleansers do the hard work to remove excess dirt and oil, but don't strip your microbiome leaving your skin hydrated and your hair happy. For the shampoo, make sure your hair is very wet and to spend the full 30 seconds in the shower standing out of direct water to build up the lather in your hair. You'll feel the lather swell as your hair acts like a loofah! If you're still left wanting more, one tip is to try micro-dosing (like double-cleansing, for your hair). Use a small amount of shampoo first to remove excess oil and go back a second time with a little less than your regular dose of shampoo. Especially good for those that want to extend time between washes. For body wash, we suggest using with a biodegradable sponge or loofah for maximum suds. You'll feel the difference!  

Our deep conditioner concentrate is packed with plant-based ingredients that give a silicone-like slip for easy detangling. Unlike silicone, these ingredients don't build up on hair, leaving a healthy, lightweight feel. For best results, run a wide tooth comb through your hair before rinsing out your conditioner and rinse gently. Always start combing near your ends and work up to prevent breakage and leave hair feeling smooth. Treat hair gently when it's wet and most vulnerable to breakage. Don't rub wet hair excessively with a towel, press and squeeze instead. The deep conditioner concentrate doubles as a hair mask, so you can leave it on for up to 15 minutes for extra hydration which will make it easier to detangle. Once dry, you'll notice visible silkiness and shine. Healthy, happy hair feels noticeably soft. 

This really depends on your hair type and how often you wash your hair and body. We generally suggest washing your hair every 3-4 days to keep your hair and scalp clean and nourished (no need to over wash your hair - those natural oils are a good thing). With generous-sized dosing for long hair, you would get 30+ washes, so a 100ml tube would last at least 12 weeks and for shorter hair, much longer! For body, you may want to wash more frequently every 1-2 days, at a generous 1 inch dose, you'll get 30+ washes, however with the konjac sponge, 1/2 inch is often all you'll need, so a 100ml tube would last 8-12 weeks!
