Everist is a brand made for the eco-optimists of the world (that's you!). A brand of everyday beauty essentials that makes it easier to do better, while still giving you the covetable results you love. Thoughtfully designed inside and out, Everist is eco that everyone can do. Starting in haircare, with patent-pending waterless concentrate formulas, Everist will reimagine your shower-routine to be healthier for your body and our planet.

What makes Everist different?

Everist was born to make it easy and fun to live sustainably. It's amazing that to this day, the first ingredient in beauty products is almost always water, and then we're shipping these diluted large plastic bottles around the world, when wait - we're already showering in water. So we concentrated our formulas down to only the ingredients your hair actually needs, in a cream form that's easy to use and in an aluminum tube that's infinitely recyclable. Now you don't have to choose between being a good human and having great hair. We believe we are complex humans and we can have both.

What makes Everist zero-waste?

While we agree that no one can be completely zero-waste, it doesn't stop us from aiming for it. We found the words 'green' or 'sustainable' didn't go far enough to describe us. We've designed every aspect of our business to be net-neutral. From our formulas (biodegradable) to our packaging (infinitely recyclable) to our supply chain (carbon neutral) we set out to build a business that would have minimal negative impact to our planet and maximal positive impact to you (great hair).

How else do we make a difference?

We believe in profit with purpose and the responsibilities of businesses to give back. We are a proud 1% for the Planet member and commit 1% of our sales to support environmental causes. What makes Everist super clean?

Our 100% plant-based formulas are free-from toxic chemicals as well as parabens, sulfates, dyes and synthetic fragrances. However, what really sets us apart is that due to our waterless innovation, we are able to completely bypass traditional preservatives, which is almost unheard of in the beauty industry.

Do they contain parabens and other chemical preservatives?

Nope. In fact our waterless formulas are completely preservative-free.

What about sulfates, triclosan, and dyes?

Nope. 100% free!

How about fragrance?

Everist is free of phthalates and synthetic fragrance. We do use some essential oils for their hair and skin benefits, and they will always be clearly listed on the label. They smell pretty great too!

Are they vegan + cruelty-free?

Yes, because no one (including you and our furry friends) should get hurt for the sake of beauty.

Are they non-GMO & gluten-free?

You bet.

Are Everist products safe for colored and chemically treated hair?

Yes. We don't use any sulfates or other harsh surfactants that can strip colour away. Our products are completely safe whether your hair is bleached, dyed, permed or straightened.

Why aluminum tubes?

Aluminum is one of the most recycled - and most recyclable - materials on the market today. It can be recycled directly back into itself over and over again in a true closed loop. This infinite recyclability makes it one of the most valuable materials in your recycling bin, that actually funds majority of curbside recycling programs. Aluminum is also light (that's less carbon to ship) and durable (perfect for the shower). And yes, it doesn't rust!

Is aluminum packaging safe?

Yes. Although you don't want aluminum in your products, our aluminum tubes have a BPA-free epoxy lining making them food-grade and medical-grade safe.

Is Everist BPA-free?

You bet! Sadly this chemical is still widely used in polycarbonate and PVC plastic, the most common plastic packaging used in cosmetics and personal care products.

What makes our paper carton special?

Our kraft carton is carbon neutral and recyclable. Printed on 100% recycled paper (meaning no trees were cut down to make it).

Why the plastic cap?

Turns out we needed a plastic cap so your tubes don't leak. We explored other materials such as bamboo and metal, but they all still had plastic on the inside, and multi-material layers are even harder to recycle. Therefore, we reduced our caps down as small as possible, made them from #1 PET plastic and highlighted them in yellow as a reminder we can always do better. We then created a CapBack program to ensure this plastic actually gets a second life.

How does the CapBack program work?

It's easy. 

1) Collect in the cotton bag provided until it’s full (at least 10 caps). 

2) Complete request form here and print your return shipping label (we will email it to you).

3) Pour the small caps into a standard size envelope and attach the shipping label.

4) Drop off at any post office mailbox or store. 

How do I use a waterless shampoo concentrate?

Simply wet hair and hands. Squeeze a 1 inch strip onto palm (for medium length hair). Rub wet hands together to activate the suds. Starting from your crown, massage hands through hair to build up lather – for at least 30 seconds before rinsing out.

How do I use a waterless conditioner concentrate?

Similar to the shampoo, start with wet hair and hands. Squeeze a 1 inch strip onto palm (for medium length hair). Rub wet hands together to activate the cream. Apply the ends of your hair and work up to roots for 3 minutes to lock in moisture. Rinse out as normal. 

How much concentrate should I use?

Our waterless concentrates are packed with only the pure, active ingredients that your hair needs. A small amount goes a long way. However, it is important to get the right dose for your hair type. Think a half-inch strip for short hair, a 1 inch strip for medium hair and a 1.5 inch strip for long thick hair. Adjust dose as needed for optimal lather. The WOW moment really comes once hair is dry, so we suggest testing a few times to get your dose just right!

How do I get the most lather?

Our sulfate-free formulas build a remarkable rich, creamy lather, without stripping the natural sebum oil barrier. Don't let those big suds from sulfates fool you - gentle cleansers do the hard work to remove excess dirt and oil, but don't strip your microbiome leaving your scalp hydrated and your hair happy. Make sure to spend the full 30 seconds in the shower standing out of the water and building the lather in your hair. You'll feel the lather swell as your hair acts like a loofah! If you're still left wanting more, one tip is to try micro-dosing. Use a very small amount of shampoo first to remove excess oil and go back a second time with your regular dose of shampoo. This will give you even more lather. 

What is the best way to prevent tangles?

Our conditioner concentrate is packed with plant-based ingredients that give a silicone-like slip for easy detangling. Unlike silicone, these ingredients don't build up on hair, leaving a healthy, lightweight feel. For best results, run a wide comb through your hair while rinsing out your conditioner. For longer hair its a good idea to always start combing near the ends and work up to prevent breakage and leave hair feeling smooth. Once dry, you'll notice visible silkiness and shine. Healthy, happy hair feels noticeably soft. 

How long should I expect the product to last?

This really depends on your hair type and how often you wash your hair. When using gentle, hydrating products, we generally suggest washing your hair every other day to keep your hair and scalp clean and nourished. With generous-sized dosing for long hair, you would get 30+ washes, so a 100ml tube would last at least 8 weeks and for shorter hair, much longer!

When should I expect to receive my pre-orders?

Thank you for being one of our original Everists. You will be among the first to try our revolutionary waterless haircare. We are hard at work to ship early February 2021. However, these are unprecedented times, so we ask for your patience. We will update you before we ship, so stay tuned!

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept a wide variety of payment methods on our site, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay. 

Where do you ship?

We ship anywhere in the US and Canada. Unfortunately we are unable to ship internationally, but we're working on it! 

What are your shipping rates?

We offer free shipping on orders over $50 USD and $60 CAD. For smaller orders, we are happy to offer subsidized rates that are calculated based on your location at checkout. 

Where do you ship from?

We ship from Ontario for Canadian orders and New York for US orders. 

When will my order ship?

We ship orders within 1-2 business days. 

When should I expect my order to arrive?

North Central - 1 to 3 business days

East Coast - 2 to 4 business days

South - 3 to 5 business days 

Midwest - 3 to 5 business days 

West Coast - 5 to 7 business days 

North / Islands - 7 to 10 business days 

Will my order be delayed due to Covid-19?

We are working hard to ensure orders ship as normal. However, most carriers are experiencing delays, so orders could take up to 2 weeks to arrive. We appreciate your patience and we're always here to help. 

I just realized something is incorrect in my order, what should I do?

Contact us asap at info@helloeverist.com or send us a DM on Instagram. Just try to catch us before your order has shipped and we'll fix it!

I received something broken or defective. 

Not to worry! Just email us at info@helloeverist.com and let us know the details. If you can attach a photo of the product in question that would really help speed things up! Shipping can be a rough journey, so it is normal for the shipping box to show some wear. Aluminum tubes are also prone to denting, which we think just adds to their charm. If there is significant damage, then please keep your shipping box and packaging materials so it can be inspected by the carrier to ensure it doesn't happen again. 

What happens if my parcel says it's been delivered, but I don't see it?

No need to panic, we'll find it. First off, double check the shipping address was correct. Then check around your entrance or mailbox in case the driver thought they found a safe hiding spot (or even at your neighbors!). It happens more then you'd think. Still no package or attempted delivery notice within 2 business days, contact the carrier with the tracking number to start a claim. What should I do if I received a wrong item by mistake?

Oh no. Our bad. Please contact us within 5 days of receipt at info@helloeverist.com, so we can review your case and ship the correct item asap. 

What do I do if I'm not satisfied with my products?

We're sorry to hear that. With anything new, it can take a few attempts to get used to the concentrate format. Check out our how-to video and helpful tips to ensure you're using it correctly. It could be that you need to up your dose for long-thick hair or leave it in longer for maximum effect - 30 seconds of lathering for shampoo, 3 minutes for Conditioner. Do you accept returns?

Over 5 billion pounds of waste is created annually due to reverse shipping. Most products that are returned, particularly in beauty, cannot be reused for sanitary reasons. That's a lot of unnecessary trash. We do believe in our products and want you to be happy, so email us at info@helloeverist.com and we'll work with you on a case by case basis.
